How does my timeline annoy me? Let me count the ways…

  1. Why do you first get scroll bars (though insufficient to see the whole thing) and a small window when you click on a post with an image, and then when you click on the same post again get a 300 pixel-wide window that is the full height of the entry? It looks like the first time you click on an oversize event, you get scroll bars. Close that window, click on it again, and you get the tall window. Huh?
  2. I am wondering about internal linking at some point – what if when you referred to a separate event in a post, you could click on that and jump down to that window? Just to make our lives more complicated….
  3. Survey says the GMT time down to the nano second is still annoying. ;-)
  4. I see the edit options on the scale for the bands. Nice!
  5. Huh. If you go to edit an existing event, and then change your mind and hit cancel (firefox 2.0) the screen goes blank… and the timeline doesn’t come back. If you hit reload on the blank screen, still nothing. If you hit back, back, back, you get back to the timeline.
  6. I edited one of the Darwin posts. Before I edited it, it appeared at the top of the screen, (there are two, it’s one of those with an accidental double post). After I edited the top one, it appeared at the bottom – below the unedited one. I wonder if this means that the exact position of the events will move about vertically, depending on what’s been edited most recently?
  7. Ok, the answer to number 6 is yes. The events are arranged vertically according to most recently edited (lowest on the screen) to oldest entry date (highest on the screen.)
